Manitowoc, Wisconsin, USA - TWH Collectibles, in partnership with Manitowoc Model Shop, introduced today the Manitowoc 31000 1:50 scale diecast model.
The new model is a 1:50 scale of the Manitowoc 31000, the largest-capacity crawler crane ever designed and built by Manitowoc, and will launch at CONEXPO in March of 2011. The model replicates the innovative design and details of the crane, including the Variable Position Counterweight. Even at onefiftieth of the size of the actual crane, the model will be the largest offered by Manitowoc. When fully assembled, the model height will peak at 2.5 meters, almost 100 inches.
The 31000 model joins Manitowoc Model Shop’s diverse line of diecast collectibles including crawler cranes, mobile hydraulic cranes, boom trucks and tower cranes. Manitowoc’s models are known for their high quality, precise detail, and accuracy in features and functions.
Amanda Barbarossa, Promotional Program Manager for Manitowoc, said the new 31000 model is a highly anticipated addition to The Manitowoc Model Shop. “We‘ve had a lot of success with our large crane models since the Manitowoc 18000 model came out in 2005,” she said. “Given its size and the new technology it includes, it is an exciting new model.”
Some of the replica's features include rotating carbody with functioning tracks and key-operated drums, a detailed cab interior, and a fully functioning Variable Position Counterweight system with individual counterweights.
The Manitowoc 31000 model will be painted the standard Manitowoc red and will be rigged with an 80m boom and 40m luffing jib at a 1:50 scale. Production of this iconic model is limited to 500 pieces, and each unit will retail for $1,800.00. Manitowoc employees and dealers can place their guaranteed preorder at www.manitowocmodelshop.com.
