TWH COLLECTIBLES BIG IRON DEBUT MOVES TO PRODUCTION     download pdf

January 6, 2009

Manitowoc, Wisconsin, USA — TWH Collectibles debut model in its Big Iron series, the 1:50 scale Bucyrus 8750 Dragline, has sold out and is moving into production. This mammoth scale model measures 63 inches (1600mm) tall with an overall length of over 110 inches (2800mm). It is limited to 50 serialized pieces and retails for $5995.00.

“The owners of this model are a very exclusive group of collectors, no doubt about it. It has been my pleasure to interact with some of the most interesting and knowledgeable collectors from around the world,” says John Hemken, Owner and CEO of TWH Collectibles.

The Dragline model made its first appearance at the NZG-Modelle booth in resin form at the International Toy Fair Nuremberg in 2008. The first metal sample will be unveiled at Toy Fair 2009 in New York between February 15th and 18th. It will premiere center stage of the TWH Collectibles booth. The 8750 Dragline models will ship in the summer of 2009 to customers from all over the world. Bucyrus International will receive the first production model, and will display it in the new Bucyrus Museum in South Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA.

TWH Collectibles is considering a second production run of the 8750 model, replicating Bucyrus International’s most recent technology. This second version would retail for $7000.00 as factory production costs increase significantly in 2009. A final decision will be made following the February Toy Fair season.
